Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address..
This intro to You’ve Got Mail has been playing on loop in my head since we landed in NYC on Thursday. I’m a little insufferably in love with this city as it stands but New York in the fall? Oh buddy. I’m hooked. Since you’re not here with me, I’m sending you a little dose of fall via my Maple Pecan Apple Crisp and the warm, comforting aroma of baked apples and cinnamon wafting through your home.
This Maple Pecan Apple Crisp is one of my favorite fall go-to bakes that strikes the perfect balance between sweet, tart, and crunchy. We’re mixing Honeycrisp and Granny Smith apples with a buttery oat topping that comes together quickly and only uses one bowl. Whether you're hosting a cozy dinner party or simply craving something sweet, this easy apple crisp recipe is sure to become a go-to in your fall baking lineup. And don’t forget to serve it up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream—because everything’s better à la mode.
Peel Good Tips
For the best texture and flavor in your crisp, mix up your apples! The sweetness of Honeycrisp apples balances the tartness of Granny Smiths, creating that perfect sweet-tart bite. Make sure to dice them evenly for a consistent bake.

Maple Pecan Apple Crisp
8 servings | 60 minutes
Ingredients
Filling
3 Honeycrisp apples, diced large
2 Granny Smith apples, diced large
½ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon kosher salt
1 lemon, juiced
3 tbsp melted butter
¼ cup all-purpose flour
Topping
1 ½ cups oats
1 cup flour
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup chopped pecan
½ tsp kosher salt
¼ cup maple syrup
1 stick cold butter, cubed
Vanilla ice cream (optional for serving)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F and butter a 9”x13" baking dish.
In a large mixing bowl, toss together the 5 diced apples, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ½ teaspoon salt, juice of 1 lemon, 3 tablespoons melted butter, and ¼ cup flour until well coated. Pour the apple mixture into your prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
In the same mixing bowl, combine the 1 ½ cups oats, 1 cup flour, ¼ cup brown sugar, ½ cup chopped pecans, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ cup maple syrup. Stir everything together, then add in the cubed cold butter. Use your fingers to pinch the butter into the oat mixture until you’ve got a crumbly, sandy texture. Spread this evenly over the apples. I like to drizzle a little olive oil over the top for that extra crisp but follow your heart.
Bake until the topping is golden brown and crunchy, about 40 minutes.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for that perfect bite of fall.
